Maria Cecília Castro Gasparian is a Psychopedagogist with a PHD in Interdisciplinary Studies through Pontifícia Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil (PUC–SP). She is also a Family and Couple Therapist with a Systemic view, graduated in Instituto de Terapia Familiar de São Paulo, Brazil (São Paulo’s Family Therapy Institute).
Having lived in the United States of America during eight years when she specialized in Woman Psychology and Gerontology in Norwalk Community College, Maria Cecília worked with children as well as terminal patients in Norwalk Hospital and with families of Latin immigrants in the city of Bridgeport, Ct, EUA. She is a member of Associação de Terapia Familiar de São Paulo, Brazil (São Paulo´s Family Therapy Association). She was President of Associação Brasileira de Psicopedagogia (Brazilian Association of
Psychopedagogy) 2000-2002and is Lifelong Counselor in this Institution. She was also a post graduate teacher at Universidade Mackenzie (Mackenzie University), São Paulo, Brazil, and a special guest teacher at PUC – SP and is also a guest teacher of Instituto Nacional de Pós Graduação, in Campinas, SP, Brazil (National Institute of Post Graduation);
Maria Cecília participates frequently in seminars, symposiums and congresses around the world all year long.
Maria Cecília writes articles for specialized newspapers and magazines. She is the author of the book “Pscicopedagogia Institucional Sistêmica”, (Institutional and Systemic Psychopedagogy), which was published by Editora Paulo Lemos. Maria Cecília is also co-author of the book “Um Enfoque Sistêmico – Terapia Familiar nas Dificuldades de Aprendizagem” (A Systemic View – Family Therapy in Learning Difficulties).
